Mueller Redevelopment Tracy and I drove off road (Saturn style) around the new Mueller Re-development area and snapped a bunch of pics of the newly transformed terrain. It's pretty interesting driving across the entire dirt area as the old Mueller runways are still highly visible. There are also some shots of the old Mueller air traffic control tower.
Robert Mueller Control Tower Dave and I were driving around the old Robert Mueller area (which is of course now part of the Mueller re-development area) and managed to find the front gate into the old ATC tower. We walked inside and took a few pics of the tower up close. If you look closely, you'll notice that the city bricked in the doors to the tower so that you can't even try to get in.
First Completed Mueller House Tracy and I took a ride over to Mueller just a few weeks before the first residents would ultimately move in. The house that we walked through was in fact the very first house to close in Mueller, with people moving into it sometime in mid to late December 2007. There are a few pictures of the 'yard' that are pretty comical to see. I'm not entirely sure why they even tried to have a 'yard' on both sides.
Some Mueller Homes Completed Continuing on my Mueller photography touring, I focused mainly on some of the houses that had already been completed on this trip. I did a few walk-throughs of some of the David Weekley and Meritage homes, and also took a number of exterior pictures of the Streetman homes in the southeast corner of Mueller.
David Weekley Mueller Options After my first visit to the David Weekley model home (where I was picking out options for my Mueller home), I decided that I would need to take some more qualified experts with me to make real decisions. I decided to see if Preston wouldn't mind going up there with Tracy and I just to get a few ideas about some things. Naturally the both of them came along and were of great assistance helping me to pick out nice options. We explored the model home in the back afterwards.
Mueller Exploration Another photo gallery in my ongoing series of the Mueller Community development. I shot a bunch of these in hopes of stitching together some panoramics.
Mueller Photos Just some more photos from out in the Mueller Community. Dreux headed out there with me so that we could see exactly where our respective properties were going to be. As it happens, pretty close to one another. Amy met us out there after she got out of the hospital and took Dreux home for me.
Mueller Exploration Tracy and I were driving around on the east side one Sunday afternoon and I thought it would be fun to see some of the continued Mueller development. It turned out that her older sister was working at the Dell Children's hospital and so we stopped in for a visit and tour of the NICU and the hospital in general.
4th of July at Mueller The annual festivities in the Mueller area had the community out in full spirit. Mike and Chris Sears played a wonderful assortment of cover tunes from the south side of the neighborhood as everyone watched the fireworks over downtown.
MNA Meeting at the Mosaic This was a regular Mueller Neighborhood Association meeting scheduled for the Mosaic. There was a pretty large crowd in attendance to talk about the severity of Austin schools potentially being shutdown by the government. Former city councilman, Brewster McCracken, also stopped by to talk about what effects the Pecan Street Project would have on the Mueller neighborhood.
