Mueller ATC Tower Looking up at an airport control tower, possibly Mueller airport. The view is from the base, up into a sunny and partly cloudy sky. There are reflections off the windows.
The LaViolette's New House Tracy and I took a drive into the up and coming Mueller Community the other day and in addition to looking at what WOULD have been my new house, we took a look at Dreux and Amy's new house too. Although they aren't scheduled to move in until sometime in May, it looks as though their house has already come along quite nicely.
Mueller Phase I Nearing Completion I wanted to stop by and see how some of the progress on Dreux and Amy's upcoming new house was. As I suspected, everything was coming along smoothly. I also took a few minutes to explore the David Weekley 'Willie' house that I had initially had a contract to purchase.
Mueller Alphabet Game I got this idea from one of Dave G's friends in the Fort Worth area. It's just a simple online scavenger hunt whereby people have to identify the sign that accompanies each letter that I display. So perhaps we take an A from "jAmba Juice" and then a B from "Brookstone" and etc. Unfortunately I got a little too busy and never found the time to actually run the game!
A Mueller Towel Taken Hostage Kathy Sokolic had lent me one of her beach towels (after we went swimming) and I forgot to give it back. I was just setting up a little photoshoot so I could send her a card claiming it as a hostage.
Neighborhood Night Out I just happened to have my camera with me on over in the Mueller Neighborhood for the annual night out. Naturally McGruff the Crime Dog made his annual appearance.
Synchronic: Neo-Urbanism I was so incredibly humbled to have been invited to speak at the most recent Synchronic series. A dear friend of mine named Felip Ballesteros was tasked with starting a new branch of GRCurrent - an incubator in Grand Rapids. The branch would go on to be called Synchronic. It was to run in a similar fashion to TED talks. About a month before my election ended, Felip called me up one day and asked if I would be willing to speak at the event. It was to take place just a week after the November 4th election and so I didn't have a great deal of time to prepare for it with everything else going on. While I certainly thought he could do way better than me, I'm never one to turn down a good opportunity. I managed to put together a 25-minute speech and presentation on the pre-selected topic of Neo-Urbanism. I had a fair amount of experience with the topic having served as an Austin City Commissioner to the Mueller Neighborhood - a neighborhood strictly built around the principles of Neo-Urbanism. The event wound up being completely sold out and the audience was spectacular. It was a wonderful experience and I loved meeting everyone.
Cricket Brooke and I were laying in bed looking at bulldogs and pitbulls. We came across this adorable 10 month old pit named Cricket. Unfortunately the Mueller neighborhood is strict against pits (which makes me hate them more than a little) and it seemed there was no way that we'd be able to adopt the little beauty at Brooke's house. Nevertheless, we asked the lady to come by so that we'd have a chance to meet with her and she was every bit as adorable as we thought.
Brooke's New House My charming and beautiful girlfriend Brooke has been fortunate enough to get a house in the Mueller Affordable Housing program. We cruise by her new house every so often so that we can see the progress of it. This is just a short album of some of those pictures that we've taken over the last few months.
