 Axel Lane Fence Posting Austin, TX This was perhaps one of the hardest working weekends I've ever worked in my life. Mostly my own fault for wanting to do all of the work myself, but just as hard nonetheless. Each one of the wooden posts was 8 feet tall and between 4 and 6 inches in diameter. To say the very least, they were incredibly heavy and to make matters much worse, I had 30 of them. I hired a gas powered auger from Rent-Equip (on Burnet and Braker) and proceeded to dig 30 holes, each about 3 feet deep into the ground and about 8 to 10 inches in diameter.
