Building Mono Austin, TX As a big fan of the indie game, Little Nightmares, I had plans to build a Mono costume for Halloween 2021. It didn't wind up happening because Six got busy with other stuff. But like most everything in my life, I kept the idea in the back of my head and decided that I would work on fabricating the costume this year. The hardest part was trying to figure out how to make the bag head stay firmly on top of my own head. I found that I was able to fabricate a cardboard box and affix a bike helmet to the inside of it. It required a bunch of cardboard and hot gluing, but it worked great. I then wrapped butchers paper to the exterior of the cardboard box. The eyes were also a little tricky as I wanted them to resemble the game and had to make perfect 4" circles (after I did the math on the proportions). I wound up using my hole saw drill at an extremely slow speed to cut through the cardboard and paper bag. Then I stretched and taped pantyhose on the inside as to block out my eyes. |
