 Kiwi Road Trip Beginning Glenrio, NM This was the beginning of our ten ( 10 ) day voyage across the southwestern United States. There weren't too many interesting pictures at first, but we still managed to shoot a few. Naturally, and as road trips often tend to go, we wanted to go as far as possible the first day. Yay for youthful enthusiasm. We left Austin around 2 or 3pm and headed north on TX Hwy 183 for the Texas panhandle. After just a few hours we made it up towards Abiline, and then eventually up to Lubbock where we stopped and had some dinner at a new Freebirds. By this time it was well into dark but we pressed on towards Amarillo and then crossed the border into New Mexico. Though I could barely stay awake at the wheel by the time we got in, we eventually wound up making it all the way to Albuquerque, New Mexico and were fortunate enough to find a place to stay for the night (or what was left of it).
