Last Day in NYC New York, NY After a long five days in the Big Apple, this was our last day there. Tracy and I worked as best we could trying to get over to Floyd Bennett Field for the afternoon. We took the F deep into Brooklyn, the B3 all the way over to Flatbush Ave., and then the B35 towards the outer banks of the city in route to the old aviation museum. Sadly, once we finally got there and after more than 90 minutes of traveling, our efforts were thwarted when the actual museum turned out to be on the complete opposite side of the entrance (past the runways). Knowing full well that the runways are probably about 8,000 - 10,000 feet in length, we were looking at a round trip of three to five miles of walking. We certainly would have done it, but unfortunately had to get back so that we could catch our flight (which was naturally delayed considerably). Unfortunately Tracy was really looking forward to exploring the museum, so it was disappointing for me that we didn't get all the way there. But, I suppose it's something we'll have to save for next time. |
