 USS Alabama Mobile, AL Getting to explore the USS Alabama was definitely a good use of a day trip. I was impressed by exactly how much of the battleship one is able to explore, virtually all of it. We went on all three self-guided tours before checking out the various airplanes in the indoor center. Most notable of those was the infamous SR-71 Blackbird. I really had no idea just how huge the thing was. Before we left we also strolled through the submarine that was docked there as well.
